Space to Talk

Army Welfare Service, Community Support Team would like to highlight an exciting new project offering young people aged 13-16, with low level mental health concerns, a safe environment to talk to their peers and qualified youth workers.

COVID-19 has negatively impacted on children and young people and their mental health is suffering because of this. A survey run in September 2020 by YoungMinds found that 80% of young people felt that their mental health had become worse since the start of the pandemic with 87% feeling lonely and isolated.

The sessions will run weekly on Zoom and will use discussions, video clips and games to support young people to open up and talk through their worries or concerns.

If you are working with a young person who would benefit from this project then please fill out the attached referral form.

Please note that if we deem the level of need to be higher than we are able to offer support to, we will refer on to other agencies.

If you have any questions about the project or would like to find out more please get in touch with Jenni Bertram, Community Development Worker – jennifer.bertram100@mod.gov.uk / 07973726189
