People living with dementia and their families in Westbury and Warminster are invited to come along to find out more about what goes on at the Old Silk Works day club.
The centre in Warminster is holding a special ‘find out more’ day on Monday 28th February when families can meet staff and volunteers, chat to existing members and get informal advice and support.
Head of day care Grant Newton said: “We know that going to a dementia day club may not be everyone’s cup of tea but we find that once people see what we do and get to know us they love coming and find that it is very different from how they might have imagined it. Old Silk Works is a vibrant, happy place full of wonderful people having a great day out together. We won’t have everyone there of course on the 28th but it will give people who might be considering day care, or just interested in knowing what is available, a chance to find out more in quieter surroundings.”
Anyone interested in volunteering at Old Silk Works is also very welcome to come along.
People can just drop in from 10am to 2pm, or book ahead for a more in-depth chat with day club staff, with Alzheimer’s Support’s volunteer manager or a dementia adviser. Call 01985 624005 to find out more or email office@alzheimerswiltshire.org.uk
