The Warminster Area Board meeting to be held on Thursday 5 September will have a Health and Wellbeing Theme and members of the public are invited to join this open meeting to find out about some of the services and opportunities that are around in the Warminster Area.
The timetable for the event is as follows:
Warminster Community Area Board meeting
Thursday 5 September 2019
Main meeting 7pm – 9pm (other activities start at 5.30pm)
5.30pm – Open Dementia Friends session
Come along and take part in this FREE training session which will teach you how to become a “Dementia Friend” which helps you to understand a little bit more about the disease and provides ideas for how you can help local people to live well with Dementia.
6.30pm – Networking session
All parties with an interest in Health and Wellbeing – whether that is charities, local organisations or even just members of the public will be given the opportunity to network with each other to raise awareness of the wide range of activity taking place locally to help improve people’s health and Wellbeing
7pm – 9pm Area Board meeting
This will include the usual updates from local partners – police, fire and rescue, parishes etc, and grant applications, but will also include the following presentations, all of which have a health and wellbeing theme:
- Claire Lowman, Local Area Coordinator: Claire has recently been appointed as the local area coordinator for Warminster. The role involves Claire working with individuals with issues ranging from Mental Health issues, unemployment and others, and helping them to re-engage with the community
- Mel Grace, Southern Electricity: Mel Grace will present on the some of the service which Southern Electricity provide which are especially valuable to socially isolated individuals
- Judy Walker, Carer Support Wiltshire: Judy is the recently appointed CEO of Carer Support Wiltshire and will present on some of the work they are doing locally to support carers
- Camilla Vickers – HealthPitch: HealthPitch are a new organisation who visit care homes and similar surroundings and provide professional standard operatic performances. Camilla will present on how their work improves the wellbeing of their audiences, and her plans for working in the Warminster Community
