Wiltshire’s walking netballers strolled to victory at a national sports honours ceremony.  The county hit the target at England Netball’s Vitality Goalden Globes Awards at Nottingham’s East Midlands Conference Centre. Wiltshire beat rivals from across the country to win the Rose Award for their ‘exceptional contribution to netball’.  This award acknowledged the expansion of walking netball in the county, which has been instigated ...more

Wiltshire Council is supporting the Stoptober 2018 campaign, which has been launched by Public Health England and is promoting the message that quitting is easier with support.  The Stoptober challenge offers a free Personal Quit Plan to help smokers find the right support for them.  Smokers are much more likely to quit using the right support as opposed to quit unaided or go ‘cold turkey’. First concert at new venue

First concert at new venue

Tickets are still available for the first live music event at the refurbished Old Silk Works. Sing and Strum on Saturday 6th October features Sounding It Out choir and Frome’s own ukelele orchestra The Frukes. Wiltshire Council in partnership with businesses is once again offering grants to fund young athletes in their quest for success. Over the past five years, 34 potential champions in the county have benefited from funding, and the hunt is now on to find more sporting stars of the future.
