Our day club volunteers provide direct support to members at our award-winning dementia day club in Warminster.
The Old Silk Works is an activity based club where 12 members at a time are helped to pursue their own interests and maintain social skills in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. Our members are mostly in the early to mid stages of dementia, and include younger people with early-onset forms of the illness.
Volunteers are an vital part of the club day welcoming members, supporting them in activities like a game of scrabble, engaging them in conversations, sometimes helping with preparing/serving refreshments during the day. We are looking for someone who can come in on the same day each week if possible.
This is an extremely rewarding role with on-going support and training in dementia awareness provided.
This role requires an initial meeting with the Volunteer Co-ordinator, two references and a DBS check.
