Area Board funded SID in Chapmanslade

7th March 2019, 5:32pm | By Philip HOLIHEAD |

Chapmanslade PC recently successfully bid for funds to Warminster Area Board to purchase a Speed Indicator Display (SID) to be used on the High St (A3098).

The equipment has been deployed at the Frome end of the village and villagers there report that they have noticed a reduction in overall speeds. This is borne out by the Community Speed Watch Team that has seen average speeds drop into the high 20s and low 30s in the 30mph zone.

So successful was the initial site, the Parish Council have released funds for an alternative site at the opposite end of the High St.

None of this would have been possible without the support of the Area Board to make the initial capital purchase of the equipment.
