
Would you like to mentor children, parents and adults with building up their confidence and self-esteem? Are you aged 18 or over? Are you interested in the Youth Justice System? Do you want to build up your skills and experience into your chosen industry? Can you spend up to an hour a week supporting someone in need?
Then we may have the roles for you, the Community Involvement Team are looking for volunteers to support with the following:
Primary Mentoring – Spend around an hour each week in primary schools during the school day supporting children to build resilience by having fun and trying new things
Community Mentoring – Spend around an hour a week with a young person for up to a year and can provide support with self-esteem, social skills or working toward goals
Parent Mentoring – support parents whose child or young person is being exploited or at risk of exploitation
Transitional Mentoring – support vulnerable young people aged 16-25 as they move into adulthood
Appropriate Adults – look after the interests of young people who are being interviewed by police at the police station when a parent or guardian is not available
Referral Order Panel Members – represent the community ensuring young people who offend take responsibility for their actions and help change their behaviour
