29th May 2019, 10:57am | By Esther Allberry | Event Date : 20190604

Employability Courses and Functional Skills Maths

  • Learn new skills
  • Refresh old skills
  • Get help searching for jobs
  • Prepare for work
  • Get a recognised qualification

Employability courses are split into eight half day sessions. You will learn skills to give you the right tools to return to employment. You can select a preferred course. However, each course builds on existing skills and develops confidence, so the more you attend, the more you will achieve.

Rethink your future: Identify personal qualities, experience and potential for development. Receive expert advice on existing skills and next steps.

Effective job hunting: Part 2 of Positive job seeking. You must complete Positive job seeking before Effective job hunting.

The art of job applications: Identify ways to ensure your application provides you with the best possible chance of getting an interview.

How much better off would I be in work?: Going back to work doesn’t mean giving up your benefits. Some benefits may carry on and others may be available once you are working.

CV Masterclass: The aim of your CV is to secure an interview. The best way to look at a CV is as a marketing tool or sales brochure.

Effective communication: The ability to communicate clearly and effectively is a vital life skill and can help all aspects of life from job hunting to social life.

Using social media to find work: Find out how to create an online profile on Twitter, Linkedln and Facebook.

Positive job seeking: Take a fresh look at job hunting strategies and discuss realistic ways to find new opportunities
