Family carers of people living with dementia in Wiltshire are invited to a free online training course starting on 8th March.
The six weekly sessions run by Alzheimer’s Support will be held on Monday mornings in the comfort of carers’ own homes.
The course aims to help family members understand what their relative or friend may go through as their type of dementia develops.
Each session is led by an expert in their field and cover all aspects of caring for someone living with dementia, including managing problems at home, the legal and financial aspects of caring, safer moving and assisting, and options for care.
The charity’s community services coordinator Kate Sharpe said: “This will be the fourth course we have run online and we’ve been amazed at how people have embraced the technology and been able to strike up strong connections and friendships alongside the learning.
“Please don’t worry if you have not used the technology before. We can help people get online is have a laptop, tablet or smartphone – and get in touch even if you don’t so we can still find a way to help.”
