Parents looking for summer activities for their 5 – 12 year olds can now find a wealth of opportunities all in one handy brochure – http://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/downloads/23245.
Wiltshire Council has asked local providers to send details of activities including charges, venues and dates to help parents plot how to keep children busy over the summer holidays.
The activities are aimed at 5 – 12 year olds and are particularly to help those families with vulnerable children and children of key workers who need support over the summer.
The document is online and people are encouraged to check in regularly as the information will be constantly updated as new providers finalise details of their activities.
Wiltshire Council has also asked all providers to ensure they have the necessary protocols and checks in place including procedures that enable them to adhere to the latest government guidance on social distancing. Parents are reminded to always thoroughly research any childcare provision themselves before booking places for their children.
Cllr Laura Mayes, Cabinet Member for Children, Education and Skills said: “We know there are many families who will be looking for summer holiday activities for their children. This booklet is not an exhaustive list but it does provide a range of opportunities from across Wiltshire which we hope people will find useful.
Our schools have worked tirelessly staying open for children and young people throughout the holidays. During the summer holidays we hope they will have time to relax and be renewed for the autumn term. Meanwhile we’re grateful for all those who have come forward with activities and we hope families will find this extremely useful.”
Organisations who wish to be part of the booklet will need to contact firstname.lastname@example.org who will ask for a specific list of documents and information before it is uploaded.
