Wiltshire Council acknowledged a climate emergency in February 2019 and committed to becoming carbon neutral as an organisation by 2030. To show how it will achieve this, the council has published its “Climate Strategy” and “Natural Environment Plan”. However, it is acknowledged that to achieve this goal Wiltshire Council needs to work with residents, parish councils, communities and businesses.
Tidworth Area Board (covering Tidworth, Ludgershall, Collingbournes, Everleigh and the Chutes) working with its partners would like to gather ideas and interest within our local community. Our aims are:
- to find ways to create a sustainable and environmentally friendly change.
- to bring together all those interested in or already working to reduce our carbon footprint
- to support local initiatives ranging from water bottle fillers to repair shops) including making available some financial help to get them going.
We would be very grateful if you could complete this short survey to help us start gathering this information. It is open to March 6th. If you are already doing something or are part of a local group that is, please do let us know in the survey.

We would also be grateful if you can help circulate the survey amongst your contacts so that we can ensure as many people as possible have an opportunity to get involved. Following this survey, there will be a meeting held later on in march where all those interested will be invited along so that we can discuss the ideas put forward and see how we can support some of them.
