GWW Challenge Walk Lacock

1st July 2019, 11:04am | By David | Event Date : 27/06/2019

Whilst Get Wiltshire Walking provides regular free weekly walks across the county, they also organise some pretty special extra walks during the spring and summer months.

These events are aimed at providing another opportunity for their regular walkers to do even more Physical activity as well as getting them to engage with new areas around the beautiful Wiltshire countryside.

Last week over 160 of these walkers arrived in Lacock to undertake any one of 3 graded walks according to their own ability.

The introduction of the new grade of starter walk although not hugely popular in the first 2 walks of this challenge series, proved popular last Thursday with 30 walkers, who perhaps would not ordinarily have attempted our challenge walks to venture out! This was great to witness. Well done you guys.

The afternoon was a perfect mix of blue sunny sky!

Great scenery, wonderful views and a hugely interesting historic village gave everyone who attended a really superb afternoon and evening with many rewarding themselves with supper in one of Lacock’s very hospitable pubs.

Well done to everyone who came and joined us and look forward to our next and final challenge in Warminster.

These challenge walks are open only to Get Wiltshire Walking registered walkers.

If you would like more information about joining this scheme and having an opportunity to enjoy some of these wonderful challenge walks then please go to our website; www.wiltshire.gov.uk/getwiltshirewalking
