Fantastic job opportunity to work with liveaboard boaters

23rd January 2020, 3:45pm | By richardrogers |

Boater Outreach & Engagement Worker
Hours: Part time – 24 hours per week
Contract: Fixed term until 30th September 2021
Location: Covering Wiltshire area
Salary: £20,300.00 pro rata
Closing Date: Monday 27th January ’20 (12 noon).

Are you looking for a different challenge? Do you have an understanding of the challenges faced by the liveaboard boating community? Are you an excellent communicator? Do you want to work with people with a role that is never the same two days in a row?

Then you could be looking for this challenging, interesting and exciting opportunity to become involved in a new scheme in Wiltshire supporting the liveaboard boating community.

Working in partnership with other organisations you will be encouraging access into health, wellbeing and education services, reporting on gaps and ways to support members of this community more effectively.

You will also be providing information and support to healthcare teams and other professionals so that they can interact effectively and sensitively with members of the boating community.

If you think that you would like to join a fast-growing charitable organisation who specialises in providing services to marginalised groups and want to be part of a dynamic and proactive team then we want to hear from you.

We would welcome applications from people who have lived experience of being part of the liveaboard boater community.

This post requires an Enhanced DBS check prior to commencement in role.

  • Cash health care plan
  • Up to 26 days annual leave (depending on length of service)

  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Staff Award Scheme
  • 20% Discount at Julian House Shops

Julian House has a supportive culture, providing regular supervision and line management alongside externally facilitated reflective practice which enables staff to look after their own health and well-being whilst giving their best in their roles.
