Dementia Advisers are here to help

22nd November 2019, 10:34am | By Joanna Pazucha |

Providing help, support, a friendly face and sometimes a shoulder to cry on are just some of the ways Alzheimer’s Support’s Dementia Advisers help people living with dementia from the point of diagnosis to however long they are needed.
Some advisers can have as many as 400 clients, for whom they are always at the other end of the phone and also visit them in person.
“The job can be quite intense, complex and emotionally draining and the adviser is there to support the carer as much as the person living with dementia,” says Dementia Adviser Manager, Diane Barkham. “The advisers are passionate and dedicated and all go above and beyond their role.”
