Change your life and someone else’s

11th November 2019, 1:14pm | By Clare Lucas |

Alzheimer’s Society’s Side by Side service is a volunteer-led service to help people living with dementia to keep on doing the things they love – and try new things too! It’s a fun, friendly and flexible volunteering opportunity through which you’ll receive expert training and support. The registration process does involve a criminal records check. You can become a one-to-one volunteer and accompany someone with dementia to go for a swim, catch the latest movie, or walk into town for a chat and a cuppa. Side by Side is a two way street. There’s the feel-good factor of knowing you’re changing someone’s life, but our volunteers are amazed by how much they learn from the people they support too. So become a Side by Side Volunteer and get dancing. And jogging. And chatting. And smiling. Contact Clare Lucas on 01249 443469 or e-mail: clare.lucas@alzheimers.org.uk for a registration form.
