Active Wiltshire

Following the closure of the leisure centres due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, Wiltshire Council leisure services want to try and support you as best we can while you’re not able to use our facilities.

Get Active

Les Mills, who we partner with to provide a variety of group exercise classes, have enabled free access to a number of exercise videos across their range of different classes. You can try Body Balance, Body Attack, Sh’bam, all from the comfort of your own home. Go here for this: https://watch.lesmillsondemand.com/at-home-workouts.

We’ll also be providing challenges and videos to follow on our leisure centre Facebook pages, which you can find here.

If you are looking for something a bit more gentle, or know of older people that are a little less mobile, then Later Life Training are providing 90 simple workouts up until the end of April, which feature simple, functional movements to support the ability to do everyday tasks. You can access these live through their Facebook page (search Later Life Training) or via their YouTube channel

We also have a 30 minute video specifically aimed at our Active Health members – you can find this here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WnC3osBDss

For all our swim school members we have created a little activity pack to keep your children entertained and engaged with a variety of activities – while hopefully helping them to learn something at the same time. Go to www.wiltshire.gov.uk/leisure-swim-school to download.

Stay fresh

Wiltshire libraries have a free e-magazine service, with a wide variety of titles and content, that you can access already if you have a Wiltshire library card. Simply visit http://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/libraries-ebooks and follow the steps.

What next?

We’ll be providing regular content on our Facebook pages so if you have this, then check our pages for details.

We’ll provide more content each week, and we’d love to know if you’d like a home workout programme from one of our fitness consultants. If you do, please drop us an email on leisureadmin@wiltshire.gov.uk and we can assess the level of interest in this.

We hope you find the content of this article useful and informative and if there’s anything else you’d like to see us try and provide, let us know by emailing us.

Stay safe, stay active and stay connected to others
