3 great events that took place locally this week

10th October 2019, 7:08pm | By richardrogers |

There is always so much going on in the Tidworth Community area. Over the past week, I have been fortunate to attend three very different events, all  equally important.

On Saturday 5th October our ever growing Nepalese Community came together to celebrate Dashain which is the most important festival in Nepal and also celebrated in other parts of Asia. It was a wonderful occasion where all ages came together for food, fun, dancing and celebration. It was a good reminder and example of the importance of doing things together in order to create strong communities

On the morning of Thursday 10th October,  the annual over 75’s health and wellbeing event was held in Ludgershall memorial hall, organised by the local surgery and supported financially by the Tidworth Area Board. Over 80 people came along to socialise and hear about a range of topics from how best to look after our teeth to what it is like being a carer.

Also on the 10th October was the jobs and employment fair for service leaders and spouses. With so many soldiers returning to the Tidworth area, a lot of opportunities come with them. It is good for business and the local economy. This event was important in helping those who need to find work match up with those who are looking for workers.

Remember you can advertise your event or update people with local news on this site at any time.
