It’s Not Too Late!

Stand Sure Orchestra & Choirs has got off to a fine start but it’s not too late to join!  This new musical project, based in Pewsey, will keep welcoming members throughout the terms!  “We really don’t want to turn people away.” Says director Chris J Anderson.  He continues, “We appreciate people have lives, other commitments or that they simply haven’t seen any of the publicity.  To this end we’d like to encourage people to join us at any time.”

The new initiative is looking for any musician of a grade 5 standard or above, or any singer who wants to sing with others.  They also have a youth choir about which one member after the first session said “Wow mummy, that was way more fun than I thought it would be! Please can I come back next week?”  At the moment the youth choir is 8 – 18 but if enough older young people want to join then a second youth choir will be started for the 13+.

One of the unique things about this project is that they aren’t turning people away (as long as they fit the joining criteria).  So if they end up with more musicians in one section so be it…the director will re-orchestrate and arrange (tastefully) to make sure everyone is used fully.  With that said though, they are looking for strings players and brass players in particular.  They also need male voices.

A termly fee of £60 is payable, with each term lasting a minimum of 12 weeks (this term is 16 weeks long).  Thanks to a very generous sponsor a bursary is available for a person (of any age) who would like to join but cannot otherwise afford to do so.  Apply in writing to info@standsureorchesrtra.co.uk
