A Successful NCLT Inaugural Public Meeting

18th September 2018, 1:45pm | By stephenharris |

Development for the community, by the community.

Nadder Community Land Trust (NCLT) is a new community-based (not-for-profit) organisation which aims to bring low-cost, community-led development in the Nadder Valley, initially concentrating on identified affordable housing needs for Tisbury.

NCLT held its inaugural public meeting on 12th September at the Nadder Centre. There was a good turnout of an engaged audience of approximately 40 local residents and representatives from neighbouring parishes and Shaftesbury. We were fortunate to have the expert knowledge of Ian Crawley the National CLT Network and Trevor Cherrett from the Wiltshire Community Land Trust. Ian and Trevor shared successful CLT development from across the UK and answered some very interesting questions raised about the scope of CLTs and their management.

Thank you to everyone who said they would like to become involved in NCLT, either as a member or as part of its formal steering group. We will be contacting potential steering group members very soon with a date for our follow-up meeting. You can keep up to date with our progress, read the minutes of our first public meeting and find out more at www.naddercommunitylandtrust.org or contact info@naddercommunitylandtrust.org.

NCLT is part of the National CLT Network.
