£46k funds for new road and footway improvements in Quidhampton

21st January 2022, 8:53am | By Karen |

Thanks to contributions from Quidhampton Parish Council, the South West Wiltshire Area Board and Wiltshire Council’s Substantive Highway’s Scheme, improvements are on their way for Quidhampton.

After considerable resident consultation, and deliberations with local councillors and highway officers, the award of this joint funding will provide a new kerbed footway in Lower Road, and a priority system at Locks Lane.  The project adds to measures already adopted by the village to improve pedestrian safety. These include a 20mph speed limit, regular monitoring by an active police-assisted Speed Watch Team, and the recent implementation of a Speed Indicator Device which also collects data on traffic volume and speeds in real time.

For further information on funding available from the South West Wiltshire Area Board for local transport improvements, please contact Karen Linaker, Community Engagement Manager on 01722 434697, karen.linaker@wiltshire.gov.uk
