The Stars Appeal Engagers Programme is run by the Department of Clinical Psychology at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust and is designed to support the psychological needs of older adults in hospital who often find the transition from home to hospital difficult.
Research has shown that Stars Appeal Engagers play a vital role in combating loneliness, low mood and heightened anxiety felt by many older people during hospital stays.
