Make A Friend Be A Friend

20th January 2022, 1:28pm | By Karen |

Calling all involved in clubs, activities and organisations in Downton and Redlynch.

We are launching the Make A Friend Be A Friend project on the 10th February, 10.30am (online).

Let me know if you would like to join us and I will send you the link to the online meeting.

The overall aim of this project is to help connect some of the most isolated and lonely over 65 year olds living in Downton and Redlynch to local activities and support. The project includes some funding to assist with travel and respite and a dedicated phone line to support this 12 month long initiative.

The Southern Wiltshire Area Board awarded £2256 towards this project prior to the pandemic.

One of the important processes involved in setting up the project is to secure understanding and support from local community groups and volunteers.

The launch will include a presentation from Carer Support Wiltshire and a chance for you to ask questions about the project before it is rolled out in the spring.

Please could you RSVP by the 4th February to karen.linaker@wiltshire.gov.uk
