READ EASY – A NEW INITIATIVE IN SALISBURY, SOUTH & EAST WILTSHIRE
Read Easy UK is a national charity that helps adults learn to read. Read Easy works by matching trained volunteer reading coaches one-to-one with non- or beginner readers and has established a successful track record because of its flexible, fun and free approach!
You may have seen the recent BBC1 documentary “Learning to Read at 51” featuring Jay Blades who achieved his aim of reading a story to his daughter through working with a coach from his local Read Easy group.
We are in the process of starting a Read Easy Group in Salisbury, South & East Wiltshire and the first stage is to form a Management Team of volunteers with a wide range of expertise and experience to take this forward. Once formed, the Group will then be able to recruit volunteers to train as reading coaches.
What skills do you already possess that we could tap into? What new skills might you learn along the way? Read Easy provides excellent support and training at all stages – all you need to supply is your own drive and commitment.
