Mary Fawcett Art Exhibition at Five Rivers Health & Wellbeing Centre

22nd May 2019, 8:42am | By Marc Read |

I have been painting for over 35 years, firstly inspired by my Mum, with whom I went on many art courses and shared exhibitions. We were taught pastel by the late Christopher Assheton-Stones, who was a leading light in the Pastel Society. Pastels are pure pigments, bound with gum tragacanth, and remain colourfast and durable under glass.

I also love to paint in acrylic and mixed media, enjoying the freedom of brush strokes in a variety of styles. I am most often drawn back to the sea, to the open land, flowers, and the joy of Creation. Sometimes I am spiritually inspired by Bible verses and may incorporate words subtly into the work. I also co-run a very informal Art and craft group once a month.

I have exhibited work widely over the years, and been privileged to receive awards, including the Edwin Young trophy twice, and many commendations.

I have been glad to support the TRUSSELL TRUST through the sale of work and will do likewise during the month of June with a donation from any sales. I was glad to use their resources for people in difficulties many times when working in the Community.

Please contact me with any queries, or if you would like to purchase a painting.

Tel: 01722 502050 or 07954685057

I would be delighted to hear from you.
