Salisbury Walking Football are acting as hosts to a national charity tournament in support of the Stephen Darby Foundation which supports people with Motor Neurone Disease.
Stephen Darby who is a well known ex professional footballer who captained Bolton in his day has the disease and is the husband of Steph Houghton the England World Cup Women’s Team Captain.
The event is to be held on the Salisbury Rugby Club fields on Sunday July 28th starting at 12.00 and has attracted more than 30 teams and Steph has agreed to come to the tournament with a team made up from the World Cup squad!! to take part!!
It promises to be a fabulous day with all sorts of things going on not just the walking football, lots of eating opportunities, family fun stuff, music and hog roast evening fun etc etc.
The aim is to raise £5000 for the Foundation and the organisers predict up to 1000 people will be attending.
