Support available for parents

11th September 2020, 8:41am | By richardrogers |

Home-Start Kennet support families with a child under 5yrs through challenging times. We have a pool of 30 volunteers we match with families to provide parent to parent support, once a week for up to 6 months. This service is free and funded by many different funders. We take referrals from Health Visitors, GP’s, Army Welfare, schools and the families can refer themselves if they wish.

We have been offering telephone support throughout the Pandemic and are moving to support visits for families outdoors this month. We will also be piloting small groups as well. We have also used social media and other technical options to engage with families and the volunteers who support them during that past few months. We currently have capacity to support more families. I attach one of our leaflets to give more information.

Our sister Home-Start in South Wiltshire (covering Salisbury/Amesbury) is also offering support.
