Olympic medallist Shelley Rudman will be joining the official opening of the Vale Community Campus in Pewsey this month.
It’s been just over two months since the campus opened its doors to the public.
In that short space of time, it has welcomed more than 13,000 visitors, more than doubled its leisure centre members and just under 6,000 people have been swimming in the 25m pool.
To celebrate this success, an official open day is taking place on Friday 22 February from 1pm-4pm.
Free group exercise taster sessions will take place in the studio and the gym will be free to non-members to use some of the equipment. The sports hall will host sessions for people of all ages including, walking netball, taekwondo, badminton, mini tennis, junior football as well as soft play and a bouncy castle. A special Rhyme Time session will take place and there will be arts and crafts and balloon modelling available for young children.
Free swimming is also being offered for people of all ages between 1pm-3pm.
John Thomson, Wiltshire Council cabinet member for the campus programme, said: “I’m delighted that so many people have been enjoying the centre since it reopened. It really is a fantastic asset for Pewsey and I encourage anyone who hasn’t visited the campus yet to do so.
“The official open day presents a fantastic opportunity to experience the variety of events and activities that the campus offers. I look forward to seeing you all there.”
