HOPE not hate – Wiltshire Police launches schools competition

18th October 2018, 1:51pm | By David |

In October each year the annual hate crime statistics are published and awareness campaigns organised across the country.

Wiltshire Police is reaching out to primary and secondary schools to encourage teachers to include lessons on hate crime and related subjects like bullying, isolation and kindness.  New teaching resources are now available and a short video animation for schools.

This year’s national campaign is called HOPE, a theme Wiltshire Police has adopted for a new primary schools poster competition and a video log competition for secondary schools, with prizes for individual winners and the schools.

For more information on hate crime, teaching resources available and the HOPE competition go to https://www.wiltshire.police.uk/article/3441/Hate-Crime-Awareness-Schools-Competition-and-Lesson-Plans

Deadline for all entries is 5pm, Friday 16 November 2018.
