Equality and Inclusion – Pewsey Community Area

As part of the council’s new equality and inclusion objectives, we want to know and understand our communities better, particularly with regard to the 9 protected characteristics in the Equality Act 2010. We want to capture and celebrate the many examples of good practice already being demonstrated and to help identify any gaps or barriers to engaging hard to reach groups that we can work together to address.

The 9 protected characteristics are race, religion or belief, sex, disability, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, age, marriage or civil partnerships and pregnancy/maternity.

We would like you to comment on the following questions with regards to the Pewsey community area:

1. What do you know about the make-up of your community areas in terms of protected characteristics?
2. What activity currently takes place in the community areas to either foster good relations or eliminate discrimination with people in the community from any of the 9 protected characteristics?
3. Are you aware of any gaps in provision or barriers to these groups?
Please can you direct your responses to equality@wiltshire.gov.uk by Friday 31st May 2019.
