This walk starts at 10:15am in Calne in Church Street car park GR: ST998709, Nearest postcode: SN11 0HU, from where we’ll head north out of town towards Bremhill House and onto Maud Heath’s Monument. We’ll return via Bremhill, the Dumb Post and the disused railway path. Please bring your lunch. Lifts are suggested at £1.20.

A Sunday Saunter from Beckhampton
Sunday, 12th February, 1:30pm, Leisurely 5 miles /8.1 km
Please note that the walk leader will meet us at the start point at 2pm which is the Layby/carparking area on the A4, on your right if heading from Calne towards Beckhampton, GR:SU076692, Nearest postcode: SN8 1QR. We start by walking though the wooded area climbing gently. We then head downwards, before crossing the road, following the tracks and roads towards Yatesbury. We can take a small detour to check out All Saints Church, before carrying on along the road turning back towards Cherhill Downs. We’ll then follow the Medieval Old Bath Road, known as the Wessex Ridgeway, back to the beginning. Lifts are suggested at £2.60.

Around and About from Yatton Keynell

The walk starts from the Yatton Keynell Village Hall car park at 10am, GR: ST867760, Nearest postcode: SN14 7EJ. A circular walk from Yatton Keynell over the fields and on quiet lanes to Slaughterford via Biddestone. From Slaughterford we follow the By Brook valley through Ford and onto Long Dean before heading back to Yatton Keynell through West Yatton Down Nature Reserve. Please bring your lunch. Lifts are suggested at £1.00.

A Sunday Stroll from Tormarton.

The walk starts at 2pm from Tormarton. Please park thoughtfully near the playground in Tormarton, GR: ST770786, Nearest postcode: GL9 1HU. The walk explores the valley of the By Brook on either side of the M4 and we also have a look around the village of Tormarton. Lifts are suggested at £2.60.
