Marlborough Area Board’s next meeting

30th August 2018, 5:05pm | By andrewjack |

You are invited to the next meeting of Marlborough Area Board, which takes place on Tuesday 4th September.  This meeting will be looking at the many events and activities taking place across the local area which commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War.

Wiltshire Council has been supporting groups to work with the Woodland Trust to plant 10,000 trees across the county to commemorate that number of local men who served in the conflict.  We’ll be hearing about those groups from the Marlborough area that are planting trees and how this will represent their local men.

The meeting will also hear from Innov8 Sportz, the group running a number of youth clubs across the area on behalf of the area board and local youth network.  The area board helped to fund a trial of monthly youth clubs in Ogbourne St George, Baydon, Ramsbury and Lockeridge, the aim being to test how well each worked and if young people wanted them to continue after the trial.  This report will be the culmination of the six month trial and tell us which villages want the club to continue.

The meeting takes place on Tuesday 4th September in Marlborough Town Hall and is open to everyone.  It starts at 7.00pm and there is tea, coffee and networking from 6.30pm.
