At Tuesday night’s meeting, Marlborough Area Board launched their new Health & wellbeing group. This is made up of representatives of local and county-wide groups that work towards providing health, social care services and supporting vulnerable people. Other local people who are interested in these topics but do not belong to any group are also more than welcome to join.
The aim of the group is to ensure the voices of older people and vulnerable residents are heard by those who run, plan and regulate health and social care services in the Marlborough area.
The group will have an annual budget of £6,700 that can be spent on helping to provide services for older and vulnerable people in our community.
One of the group’s first jobs once it comes together will be to carry out a “mapping and gapping” exercise to look what is currently on offer in the area and decide if there are any important services that are missing. The Health and Wellbeing group can use part of its budget to provide that missing service as well as award funding to grant applications.
The first meeting of this new group has been set for the 7th of January, with the venue still to be decided. If you would like more information about the group or would like to come along to this meeting, please contact Andrew Jack, the Community Engagement Manager, on 01225 713109 or firstname.lastname@example.org
