Find out about changes to recycling

20th July 2018, 9:58am | By andrewjack |

Marlborough Area Board will be hosting a meeting where you can hear all about the new changes that are coming to our kerb-side recycling service.  At the meeting on the 24th July, Wiltshire Council’s Waste team will be speaking about these changes and the different materials that can now go into the black boxes and the blue lidded bin.  In particular, there will be an increase in the range of the types of plastic that can be recycled.

Also speaking will be Wiltshire Wildlife Trust about their work alongside Wiltshire Council and with schools to promote these changes and encourage us all, but especially the younger generations, to think harder about what we throw away.  Finally, a new project in this area – River Clean Up – will be telling us about the work they do with schools and how they turn the waste collected during these clean ups, what they call “Litter Treasure”, into works of art!

The meeting takes place on Tuesday 24th July in Marlborough Town Hall and is open to everyone.  It starts at 7.00pm and there is tea, coffee and networking from 6.30pm.
