Pewseyvale Railway Society meeting

27th July 2018, 11:04pm | By Stephen Clamp | Event Date : 14/08/2018

In Woodborough Social Club SN9 5PL … At 19:45
Peter Jordan. – Indian Railways.
Peter (Fuzz) Jordan has been chasing trains round India since his first visit back in 1979. Given his background with the Ffestiniog Railway, it is not surprising that his first love in India is the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway. However, all the railways in India are of interest to him and this talk will take us from the last years of steam supremacy, through the diesel era to modern times where India has a very modern inter-city electric network. Whilst hill railways still have lots of charm India offers a wide variety of railway interests. Fuzz owns and operates Darjeeling Tours.
Please note: it is a good idea to check our website just in case there has been a late programme change.
