Sign up to a great challenge this Autumn in your local swimming pool! The Aspire Channel Swim runs between 10 September and 3 December and challenges you to discover your inner champion by swimming 22 miles – the width of the English Channel – to raise money for people paralysed by spinal cord injury.

That’s 1416 lengths in total at your local pool and you can do this when you like and swim as many or as few lengths per visit as you want. It’s free to sign up and all money raised through fundraising goes to Aspire to help change the lives of hundreds of people affected by spinal cord injury.

The swimming challenge could help you to rediscover body confidence you might have lost, gain a much needed sense of freedom, or give you the opportunity to take some time for yourself to regain a work-life balance – whatever the outcome you will undoubtedly gain a sense of achievement in discovering your inner champion!

And if you sign up for the challenge at a Wiltshire Council swimming pool and want to start a Swim Zone membership on the back of your challenge, then we’ll waive the admin fee for you – saving you £20 straight away. Just show us proof of your Channel Swim entry (your online account would be fine) and we’ll get you started straight away. Simply come into your local centre to discuss. Swim Zone memberships start from as little as £17.50 per month on a 12 month minimum length contract. See www.wiltshire.gov.uk/leisure-memberships for full details.
