Malmesbury Concert Band plays the Market Cross on 22 June

The Malmesbury Concert Band (MCB) will be entertaining passers-by and shoppers in Malmesbury’s Market Cross/ Birdcage Walk on Saturday, 22nd June from 1100 to 12.30, in this, its 160th anniversary year, with a selection from its summer programme.

The Band was founded in 1859 and is planning a major concert to celebrate this significant milestone in Malmesbury Abbey on Saturday, 12th October.

The Malmesbury Concert Band is a concert wind band with around 25 playing members, Subject to vacancies, it’s always happy to welcome new members and to receive requests to play at events in the local area.

Deputy Director of Music Art Robb said: “ We always look forward to playing in the Market Cross/Birdcage Walk, a regular engagement for us, and we know how much the public enjoy our music. We will be delighted to see local residents and visitors alike.”
