Community Group – Tidworth Mums

12th May 2017, 12:02pm | By Steve |

Tidworth Mums have over 3000 members on their facebook page.

In a nutshell:

Tidworth Mums is a not for profit group set up to help improve the wellbeing of people with children in Tidworth and the surrounding areas.  They provide up to date information on preschool groups and  activities for older children as well as relevant local businesses and services.  They also support and encourage volunteering in the local community with us directly and with others

What makes this project special: Tidworth Mums is a community group of volunteers trying to make a difference.  They are dedicated to improving the emotional, social, physical and economic well-being of civilian and forces families in the Tidworth area.

Whether you are a parent, grandparent, childminder or au pair, they know what it is like to move to a new area and how daunting it can be when you don’t know anyone or anything about the local area.  They also know what it is like to settle children into a new routine.

How you can replicate this project where you live:

  • Establish local need
  • Talk to Tidworth Mums about setting up a Mums group
  • Identify a suitable meeting location
  • Identify local volunteers and organisers
  • Promote the group
  • Launch your local Mums group
