Would you like to be part of a positive community-based approach, supporting young people to make positive choices?
Then come and help us with our photography skills course.
The Salisbury and Wiltshire Museums are working with children’s services to deliver a 10 session photography course open to 13 to 18 year olds who are not in Employment, Education or Training.
Our pilot project is running in Tidworth (volunteer expenses are covered)
Sessions will run on Tuesday and some Thursday afternoons, from 5th November to 12th Dec in Tidworth. 2 sessions will be trips. One for a landscape photography in the Stonehenge landscape and one to The Wiltshire Museum.
We need volunteers who want to support young people, without judgement, to help them get the most out of their course and to collect video evidence for their portfolio. All participants will have the opportunity to gain an arts award.
We are working with a professional photographer who will teach the skills. An interest in photography is not essential but could mean this project is particularly interesting to you.
Volunteers will also have the option to work with the group again after Christmas to create an exhibition of their work for the Tidworth Leisure Centre before it comes to the Wiltshire Museum.
If you have any questions about the project would like a project information pack and volunteer role description contact the project lead – Sarah Gregson – Community Curator at firstname.lastname@example.org
This project is supported by the PCC and High Sherriffs Award, Tidworth Area Board and Wessex Museums Partnership.
(If you are interested in this opportunity for a local young person please use the same contact information).
