Become a Family Friend – work directly with families to provide friendship, encouragement & support.

8th March 2023, 7:35pm | By Kirsty Cross |

Facing life alone is hard, and when you feel there is no one there to support you it is a scary place to be. Therefore, at Safe Families we offer support, hope and belonging to improve the lives of those in our communities. We link children, young people and families with local volunteers who can offer them help and support.

Family friends work directly with families to provide friendship, encouragement, and support so that parents feel less isolated.  It might be a simple as being a listening ear over a coffee, giving simple advice and practical support or taking the children to the park for a couple of hours.

Volunteers are given full training and have the support of our local team throughout their time volunteering. They usually connect with the family once a week or once a fortnight for around six months.

We have opportunities county wide.
