The Big Conversation
Session 1 – 2pm until 4.30pm
Session 2 – 6pm until 8.30pm
Monday 12 November 2018
Devizes Town Hall
The event will be interactive and everybody attending will be encouraged to voice their opinion on a range of topics and issues.
The Health and Wellbeing Group is made up of members of the public along with representatives from charities and organisations who are interested in projects which improve the health and wellbeing of people in the area. It supports projects by using a vast network of contacts and experience as well as awarding grant funding through Devizes Area Board. The group’s work recently culminated in the successful wellbeing day held on the green which was attended by around 500 people.
Cllr Simon Jacobs, Chair of Devizes Area Board and Portfolio Holder for Adult Social Care Transformation at Wiltshire Council said “The Wellbeing Day was a great success. We know that many people made real connections with organisations which will help them improve their health and wellbeing. However, some people asked why the day was only focused on older and more vulnerable people and not on improving the Health and Wellbeing of everyone.”
“Using this feedback, we are slightly shifting the focus of the Health and Wellbeing Group to include all adults. It is right that before we make this change, we have an open conversation with the public to find out what people think about the current provision in the area and what the priorities should be. The Big Conversation is the starting point.”
Chair of the group, Cliff Evans, said “We want to hear from a wide range of people. Please come along and take part. By doing so, you will help us in our efforts to make a difference to people’s wellbeing throughout the whole community.”
If you would like to come or have any questions about the event, please get in touch with Graeme Morrison, Devizes Community Engagement Manager by email firstname.lastname@example.org or on 07986 365943.
