Live Well sessions starting in Corsham

5th April 2019, 3:22pm | By Ros Griffiths |

Wiltshire Council’s new Live Well programme is being introduced in Corsham with the first session taking place on Tuesday 23 April.

The initiative aims to promote physical activity and social opportunities for older people.

Live Well offers adults a range of daytime activities at council leisure facilities. Sessions have been designed specifically for older residents and anyone that would like to lead a healthier lifestyle and meet new people in a relaxed and supportive environment is welcome.

John Thomson, cabinet member for leisure, said: “Live Well is perfect for individuals who enjoy meeting people in their local community, making friends and having the opportunity to take part in a range of different activities all in one place”.

The weekly sessions take place on a Tuesday afternoon from 1.30pm – 4pm at Springfield Community Campus, Corsham. A range of Live Well activities are available, including badminton, short mat bowls, table tennis and keep fit.

Participants will be able to choose the activity/activities they would like to get involved with each week. There is also access to the café, which provides both hot and cold refreshments.

For more information or to register your interest please contact Springfield Community Campus via email springfieldcommunitycampus@wiltshire.gov.uk or call 01249 468460.
