#EPIC Talks takes on science, history and the earth’s impact on civilisations

14th June 2019, 9:26am | By Ros Griffiths |

The next of Wiltshire Council’s free #EPIC Talks is tackling the topics of history, science and the earth’s impact on the shape of human civilizations.

The talk takes place on 1 July at 5:30pm in the council chamber at County Hall. To book their free place people should visit www.epictalks.eventbrite.co.uk

Bestselling author of The Knowledge, Lewis Dartnell, will be sharing his unique perspective on how the earth’s environment throughout its history has helped shape the human story.

Jo Pitt, Wiltshire Council director of human resources and organisational development said: “It’s only fitting that the next of our #EPIC Talks should take on an epic subject matter of such scale, presented in a fascinating and accessible way.

“The diversity of topics has been key to our talks’ success so far and we’re looking forward to welcoming Lewis and hearing his unique take.”

Hardback copies of Lewis Hartnell’s new book “Origins: How the earth made us” will be available on the day for £20 and can be signed on request.

#EPIC Talks is an exciting series of free lectures delivered by thought leaders, academics and experts and is open to members of the public. The aim is to stimulate debate and learning on a wide range of topics.
