‘Wiltshire Council is working with Transcoco to set up a Corsham Recycling Hub at the wooden shed in the front car park of the Springfield Campus. Supported by Corsham Town Council and Corsham Environment Task Group, it aims to provide a one-stop location for a range of difficult to recycle items including crisp packets, biscuit and chocolate wrappers, bread bags, Pringles tubes, Tassimo pods, make-up packaging, medicine blister packets and lots more. As well as helping the planet by recycling materials instead of sending items to landfill, many of these schemes also generate a donation to charity, in particular Wiltshire Air Ambulance. So if there was ever a good time to start recycling, now is it!
To help run the Hub, we need Hub Volunteers to sort the recycling, transport it to the onward hub (car required) or box it up, and help residents identify what items can be recycled. In particular, we need volunteers who regularly drive over to Chippenham, who could drop recycling off to the Chippenham hub. We also need as many Recycling Champions as possible, people who can encourage friends, neighbours and relatives to recycle more, both in their kerbside recycling and at the Hub. They could act as mini-Hubs in their road or local area or even start a collection box at their workplace or local Club or group.
If you would like to get involved, please email Cllr Jane Roberton at email@example.com or call 07929 996729.’
