A round-up of this week’s Area Board meeting….
On Wednesday evening Corsham Area Board provided an opportunity for local residents to look around Digital Mansion ahead of the official opening ceremony on Friday 22nd March.
Tim Martienssen, Head of Service, Economic Regeneration shared the vision for the new digital hub providing an overview of the building’s transformation and opportunities for local start-up businesses. A guided tour was provided to show the various meeting, office and break out spaces and how the historic features of the site have been preserved and enhanced.
Following a busy National Apprenticeship week Nathalie Smith, Training and Apprenticeship co-ordinator, shared information on Wiltshire Council’s Apprenticeship Programme – more information can be found here: Wiltshire Council employment and skills service and Wiltshire Careers
Area Board Chairman, Cllr Ruth Hopkinson provided an update on the Electoral Review. A 10-week public consultation on the recommendations will end on 15 April 2019. The consultation is open to anyone who wants to have their say on new council divisions, division boundaries and division names across Wiltshire. A film was shown reviewing Area Board supported projects in 2018/19, this highlighted many achievements through working in partnership with local groups and organisations across the community.

Over £50,000 has been allocated to 35 community projects across the Corsham community area, levering in £200,000 of additional external funding.
