“You are invited to a special event for clubs, organisations and support groups in the Corsham Community Area”

Thursday 20th Sep, 2pm

Tippet Room, Springfield Community Campus, Corsham

Free refreshments and cake provided from 1.45pm

Does your community group need more volunteers, funding, support or members?

We invite you or a colleague to come to a special meeting aimed at supporting local clubs, organisations and support groups as they operate within the Corsham Community Area.

One of the main reasons to hold this event, is to offer an opportunity to participate in a fantastic new campaign we’re rolling out in the Corsham community area, to help us to connect clubs, organisations and support services with those who wish to join or support them.

The Corsham area board is working in partnership with support services such as Carer Support Wiltshire, Age UK Wiltshire, Wiltshire CIL as well as community groups to deliver this Community Connections Project. The goal of this project is to reduce the incidence of loneliness and social isolation in our local area, and we’d like you to be a part of it.

We are aiming to reach as many local people as possible by sending a postcard to all local addresses, putting up posters in community places and through a dedicated phone line which will signpost anyone who wants to get involved with a local activity or group.

We are keen to hear from local clubs and groups such as yours, who are interested in increasing their numbers and would help a new member to feel welcome.

A key part of this event will be to hear more about the project, ask questions, network and register. This is also the perfect chance to meet the organisers of the Community Connections project, make sure we have the right details about your club or group, and sign up to receive referrals through this service

In addition, we are delighted to also have brief presentations from 3 other organisations

  • Wiltshire Centre for Independent Living – How an inclusive community led approach can help you make connections with potential new members, other groups and resources in your area #MakeSomeoneWelcome
  • Corsham Institute –To hear about a project that is just about to pilot in the Corsham Community Area that will offer huge benefits to clubs including organising, promotion, volunteers and it will be free!
  • Corsham Health and Wellbeing Group – 3 ways we can help you grow your organisation,

All the presentations and questions will take place from 2pm to just after 3pm followed by up to another hour to network, share with those other groups in the room or get any specific help and support.

If you are unable to make it along on the 20th but would like to find out more about being part of the “Community Connections” project, please contact Lizzie Rapley or Jon Berridge at Carer Support Wiltshire:

We hope to see you on the 20th September.
