  The Armed Forces Day flag will be raised in Salisbury at 10am on Monday to mark the start of the final countdown to Armed Forces Day National Event on 28 – 30 June.     Baroness Scott of Bybrook, OBE, Leader of Wiltshire Council, is being joined by Colonel Andrew Dawes, Commander South West and Cllr John Walsh, Mayor of Salisbury, to raise the national Armed Forces Day flag at The Guildhall. Local man fined for verbally abusing parking officer

Local man fined for verbally abusing...

  A Chippenham resident has been ordered to pay more than £200 for verbally abusing a Wiltshire Council parking officer.   Thomas Edward Tume of Park Lane, Chippenham was fined £200 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £30 and costs of £85 at Swindon Magistrates Court. Mr Tume pleaded guilty to the use of threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour to cause harassment/alarm/distress.   The incident occurred on 21 December ...more
