Nearly 300 people living with dementia in Wiltshire were treated to a cream tea in their own homes this week.
Wiltshire charity Alzheimer’s Support home support workers delivered 280 plates of scones (kindly donated by Tesco), cream and jam in place of its usual summer get-togethers. The service is back at full strength after reopening visits in May and is now providing around 370 home visits at week, including to new clients who have not been able to get to groups or other activities.
New referrals to the charity dropped by two-thirds during the first three months of lockdown and anyone who is concerned about their memory or that of a loved one can self refer on the charity’s website or by calling 01225 776481.
