Extended deadline for Wiltshire and Swindon Youth Commission applications!

10th June 2022, 9:54am | By Ros Griffiths |

In recognition of the current pressures exams are having on young people in the region, we have listened to educational experts and extended the application deadline to 24th June 2022. This will allow all young people to access this opportunity and complete the application forms after their exam period.

We are currently recruiting young people to join the Wiltshire & Swindon Youth Commission on Police and Crime 2022  – an exciting initiative in partnership with the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.

The Youth Commission is aimed at young people aged 14-25 years who want to make a difference in their community.  We’re looking for a diverse group of young people from different backgrounds and life experiences to take part, including those who have direct experience of the criminal justice system.

This is a brilliant opportunity for young people to gain new knowledge, skills and experiences. Members of the Youth Commission will play an important role in helping to run peer-led consultation events and gather the opinions of other young people about policing, crime and reducing offending and re-offending.

All documents needed to apply for this opportunity are attached. We’ve tried to make this process simple and accessible for everyone. We would very much appreciate it if you could encourage any young person who you feel would benefit from this experience to apply please support them to fill out the application if needed.

The application pack can also be accessed via this link: https://www.wiltshire-pcc.gov.uk/the-pcc-and-you/have-your-say/youth-commission/

Application deadline is: 24th June 2022
