Community Fridge

14th October 2021, 12:00pm | By Ros Griffiths |

At the Climate Festival on 25th September, we had a one day opening of the Community Fridge, beside St Margaret’s Hall. This is a project to help reduce food waste. Local shops donate near-sell-by date food which anyone can take from this fridge for their own consumption for free. In time this could expand for local excess fruit and vegetable produce give-aways and integrate with using food waste for composting.

This project was a temporary victim of COVID, but now is a good time to start up.

We will need volunteers to help stock the fridge, working with the local businesses and keep it clean and tidy.

We need volunteers to help this project: please email office@bradfordonavontowncouncil.gov.uk
