Stonehenge Area Board Community themed meetings

Stonehenge Area Board is holding 2 important themed meetings for the community on Monday 7th February and Monday 7th March.  The meetings will be particularly important for our Town and Parish Councils, community groups and the Local Youth Network (LYN).

The details of the meetings are:

Monday 7th February 7pm – 8pm online via MS Teams

Stonehenge Area Board Youth activities funding

Following consultation in 2021, the provision of youth activities and support for young people has been chosen by Stonehenge Area Board as one of five top priorities.

Please join us for this special meeting to hear about the opportunities for funding youth activities in the Amesbury area. Funding is available for projects covering 13 – 19-year-olds and up to 25 years with a disability.  A wide range of projects can be funded including sports groups, arts activities, counselling, training, regular youth clubs, youth workers, scouts and guides, football, rugby, art workshops, special needs clubs, intergenerational projects, mentoring and one-off events.  The funding is available to community groups & Town and Parish Councils who would like to provide positive activities to young people – all we need is the enthusiasm, commitment and a little match funding!

Stonehenge Area Board – Mitigating Climate Change & funding opportunities

Mitigating climate change is another top priority for Stonehenge Area Board following consultation.  Please join us for a wide- ranging discussion with your local Councillors and Interested parties on 7th March.  We want to work together to share ideas for easy actions to help reduce climate change. There are plenty of simple actions that we can undertake that will make a difference to the climate and may even save you money in the long run!  The Area Board also has funding to tackle this priority, so if you are a community group, Town or Parish Council and have ideas for projects, we want to hear from you.

Town and Parish Councils – please could you let us have contact details for your Climate or Environment representative, or let us know if you don’t yet have one – thank you: send to Jacqui.abbott@wiltshire.gov.uk
